This book’s ten chapters are a collection of papers, most of which have been published before in books or learned journals. Some of them (Chapters 1, 5, 9 and 10) were read and discussed in conferences in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, in Sokoto, Nigeria and in Khartoum, Sudan.
